What we host

One active gathering. Four on the way.

Active program

Sharathon

Monthly

Show up, show your thing, hear how it was built.

Builders bring what they are working on and walk each other through it: what they built, why, and how. Showing is optional, from the mic to just turning your laptop around at your table.

Sharathon 02 happened August 23 at Brew Coffee Spot. 13 builders demoed. Next date coming.

Recorded on purpose

Every meetup teaches the next one how to get better.

We record footage and audio from our meetups, then share the raw material back with the room. Every conversation, build, and show-and-tell becomes context for what comes next. The meetup itself becomes a human-in-the-loop recursive agent.

Rewatch it. Feed it to your agents. Start your own meetup. Turn it into something we did not expect.

Between events

Discord is where the work happens between Sharathons.

People dropping projects mid-build, asking the question they don't want to post on X, helping each other ship. Free. Always on. Show up when you're stuck.

A manifesto

Done killing ideas in notebooks.

Ideas die in notebooks. You'd have a spark, write it down, maybe sketch it, and then it would sit there, buried in its final resting place till the end of time, because the time would never come that you'd have extra time to work on that one great idea.

Well, that's done.

AI just gave us the leverage we've never had before to get between idea having and actually doing. We jot stuff down and it can immediately influence a build.

What we believe
  • Everyone's new at this.

Non-technical to mega-nerd, all of us figuring out the firehose at the same time. Everything's getting easier for everyone, and it's more important than ever to pick each other up and make stuff together. Helping each other increase agency through the ever-releasing wave of tools and opportunities. Like Anthropic, where Boris and his team play with cool stuff, see what sticks, and ship. That's us.

  • Compounding beats novelty.

Every Sharathon, every event we do, is a recursive agent that makes the next one better. Everything we build makes building the next thing easier.

The studio

Built by Lucas Cooper-Bey.

Founder · Convener · Builder

Lucas is a builder in San Diego. When building got fast enough that his ideas stopped dying in notebooks, he wanted people to build beside. So he started SD AI Studio.

The Sharathon is where it began: fifteen people at one long table in Ocean Beach, four hours, free, and everyone went home with the footage. The studio grew out from there into a live calendar of the AI events happening across the whole city, the recordings and the work published as they get made, and time with San Diego businesses on the parts of their week that leak hours.

All of it points at one thing: getting good at making stuff, so the ideas people carry around start existing. The tools that used to be reserved for the privileged and the lucky are here now, and the people who get good at them get a say in what comes next. Lucas would like that to be as many of us as possible.
